Feeding the Hungry
Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life; he who comes to me will not hunger, and he who believes in me will never thirst.”
John 6:35
Catholic Charities upholds Catholic social teaching with the belief in the dignity of every human person. Every person has basic rights and is entitled to have basic needs met including food, shelter, clothing, education and health care. No one should have to put a child to bed hungry or be forced to choose between food, medicine, housing or utilities.
Catholic Charities works with its partner pantries, outreach centers and St. Vincent dePaul Conferences to ensure that no one goes hungry by providing grants, technical support, education and volunteers. Every dollar spent at the East Texas Food Bank for pantry assistance helps provide eight nutritious meals to individuals in our communities who rely on our pantries and outreach centers for food.
Catholic Charities is currently assisting 39 parishes across East Texas with hunger relief programs and services. If your church or community would like assistance with feeding the hungry, please contact Catholic Charities at (903) 258-9492 or email us info@cctyler.org.
