The first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, we will join a national movement to sacrifice one day of shopping for one day of giving. Please consider supporting Catholic Charities and be 1 of the 250 gifts they need from across the diocese.
The J.J. Saleh Outreach Center has been a blessing to the ministry of Catholic Charities and St. Vincent DePaul to a generation of Catholics. It has been a prominent home from which we can proudly showcase our mission: to ease the suffering of the poor.
Because the ministries in this center have been so focused on using donations to make the most impact on those who need us, we have delayed some needed improvements. As the world re-opens fully and normalcy begins to return, we want to emerge with a plan that helps everyone affected by suffering to receive our support.
Over the next year, Catholic Charities will review our needs by speaking with parishioners, volunteers, staff, donors and the community. We undertake this process with a hopeful mind and a unified heart towards exciting a new generation of people to take up this amazing ministry.
To begin, our Bishop has committed our diocese’s first GivingTuesday to Catholic Charities. We are searching for people to step forward and show that they are invested in our future. A donor, even at $1, gives us someone to bring into the fold of our work. Our goal is $100,000 in support. We look forward sharing updates with each of our donors in the coming months.
Please join us in prayer and support for those in greatest need throughout the diocese.
