Catholic Charities Awarded Texas Bar Foundation Grant to help immigrants become naturalized citizens of the United States.

TYLER, TX-Catholic Charities-Diocese of Tyler is pleased to announce that it has received a $15,000 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation. The award will be used to assist Immigrants with the Naturalization Process to become U.S. Citizens. The grant will provide up to $500 toward the filing of the N-400 or N-600 petition.

About Catholic Charities-Diocese of Tyler Catholic Charities-Diocese of Tyler in a non-profit agency serving people in need within 33 counties of East Texas, especially those struggling with poverty.

The immigration legal services department promotes self-sufficiency for immigrants through low-fee legal assistance in immigration matters before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service. Catholic Charities’ immigration attorney and staff assist U.S. Citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents and immigrants with naturalization and citizenship petitions. This grant will provide each petitioner with $500 towards the filing fee with USCIS. Other legal services provided by Catholic Charities include adjustment of status, legal permanent residency, and special assistance to immigrant survivors of domestic violence and violent crimes and deferred action for childhood arrivals.

Additional services provided by Catholic Charities include parish and outreach nursing, hunger relief, disaster relief, infant safety and infant safe sleep.
